Savior, Lead Me Lest I Stray

We sometimes sing a song called “Savior, Lead Me Lest I Stray.” Do we really mean the words of this song when we sing it and what does it mean to be lead by our Savior, Jesus Christ? Jesus said in Matthew 18:3 : “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” Are we truly converted and willing to take the hand of our savior and be led as a little child: honest, innocent and trusting in all things. Go And Do Likewise Part Three

Jesus taught others to show compassion and often showed compassion for others Himself. Today, we will consider a third instance when Jesus showed compassion as recorded in Luke 7:11-17. Go and do Likewise Part two

Jesus taught many times during His ministry that we should have compassion on others and often showed compassion on others Himself. One of the incidents during which He showed compassion is found in Matthew 20: 29-34. In this case he healed two blind men outside of Jericho and when they asked Him that they may receive their sight, He had compassion on them and healed their blindness. Go and Do Likewise

The second was when he healed two blind men as found in Matthew 20:29-34. The third is was when he raised a young man from the dead in Luke 7:11-17. We will examine each of these incidents in turn to see what we might learn from them. Continue reading

Lindy McDaniel

It is baseball season again. I am an avid fan of the Red Sox and enjoy following every game that I can during the season. If I were not careful, I could become too involved with my sport and neglect God in at least two areas. First of all, I must not be tempted to skip out on church attendance to watch a ball game, something that may be a temptation tonight as the Sox will be on television, a relative rarity where I live in southern Georgia. Secondly, I must not spend less time meditating on and studying the word of God because of America’s favorite pastime. There is nothing wrong with following sports in and of itself, but one must be careful not to become too obsessive and continue to put God first in their lives. Continue reading
