So, just who is God and what does it mean to me? To find our who God is one need only read the first verse of the bible (Genesis 1:1). God created the heavens and the earth that is to say all of the universe so that makes Him the creator of all things in this life that we can see or know.

Since He also created man, (Gen 1, also) He has the right to tell man how he is to live and what he must do to be saved from sin and the oppression of the devil. I believe man was created to serve God and not that God was created by man to serve man. This is where some people get it wrong.

They seek to make God in their image by thinking He should be this or that or that he must be this or that according to human logic instead of reading the scriptures, which He has preserved down through the centuries, to find out who God really is and what He expects of us, His creation.

It is man’s duty to follow and serve God and Christ His son and it is only natural for us to do so. Does the clay say to the potter you cannot make me thus or does the potter shape the clay and create something for his use, despite how the clay may feel about it. God, too, has this right to mold and to shape His creation, man through his word so that we act and think and be what He wants us to be and not something of our own devising.

Man also has freewill as given to Him by God, which means he can refuse to be molded as God would have him be and go some way of his own devising, but if he does so he cannot expect the blessings of God which is eternal life in heaven through His son, Jesus.

It is man’s duty and privilege to serve God and obey His word. As king Solomon put in Ecclesiastes 12:13: ” Fear God, and keep His commandments. For this is the whole duty of man” I am not saying that I am”hollier that thou” or even than most, but what I am saying is that because God is who He is we should all as human beings study His word and strive to live by it to the best of our ability.

None of us are perfect. Romans 3:23 says: “for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” We all transgress and sin from time to time which means we must repent and return to a relationship in good standing with God. First of course, we must get ourselves into a saved relationship or a relationship in good standing with God, but I will talk about that later.That is enough for this post,
