The Good News

The first step toward living a godly life is hearing the good news of the gospel. The good news is that the Word of God came to this earth and lived among us (John 1:14); was born of woman, like the rest of us, but of a virgin, unlike the rest of us,  and conceived of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 1:20); as the son of God, lived without sin His entire life (Hebrews 4:15) and died as the perfect sacrifice for mankind’s sins (1 Peter 1:19) on the cruel cross of Calvary; rose from the dead on the third day (1 Corinthians 15:12) and then, after 40 more days on the earth during which He appeared to many, ascended to the Father in heaven (Acts 1:9-11) where He sits on David’s throne ruling over His kingdom, His church (Acts 2:30-36; Colossians 1:18). Bible Correspondence Course

When the evangelist Phillip asked the Ethiopian Eunuch if he understood what he read while the Eunuch read from the book of Isiah, he answered “How can I, except some man should guide me?”(Acts 8:31). While it is important that we all learn to study and understand the scriptures for ourselves, at first it is often important that someone help us to understand how to learn to study the scriptures for ourselves and what the bible says we must do to be saved. My Life and others in it.

All in all, I have a pretty good and blessed life. I am 57 years old and have a good income, have never been married and live with my mother who is 84, but still cooks for her and I and keeps the house clean. I could look back on my life and consider sadly all the years I have spent being single, but I prefer to count the blessings I have and not dwell on any regrets that I have never had a wife or kids and probably never will.
